Register for Webinar: Practical Impact of the Age of Criminal Responsibility—Perspectives of Youth and Family Members

Hosted by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

OJJDP-LogoIn this webinar, the American Institutes for Research’s Age of Criminal Responsibility Research Training and Technical Assistance Center will engage presenters including a young adult who was formerly incarcerated as a juvenile within the adult criminal justice system, a family member of a justice-involved youth who has been impacted by an age of criminal responsibility set under 18, and a representative from a family advocacy organization. When processed into the adult system, juveniles experience situations where they may not fully understand their rights, be subject to interaction with and victimization by adult inmates, and forgo many of the educational and rehabilitative programs found within the juvenile justice system. Part of the discussion will focus on how parents rely on family advocacy centers to learn how to navigate the adult system and to advocate for their children.

Date: Wednesday, December 6
