gainsIn the course of their work as first responders, police officers routinely encounter people with mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders. However, many officers lack training in responding to mental health crises and considering options other than a hospital emergency department or jail. This webinar will examine two existing efforts to ensure successful interactions between police officers and people experiencing a mental health crisis: a mental health co-response strategy in Portland, Maine, and the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion initiative in King County, Washington.

Date: Thursday, March 30
Time: 2:00–3:30 p.m. ET
