aypf american youthThe Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) aims to provide all children with a significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps. This webinar will discuss what that goal means for students educated in juvenile justice facilities, focusing on a new brief from The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center and the American Youth Policy Forum entitled “Leveraging the Every Student Succeeds Act to Improve Outcomes for Youth in Juvenile Justice Facilities.” The brief provides state and local policymakers as well as education and juvenile justice leaders with information on how they can use the accountability requirements under ESSA to improve the quality of education and postsecondary and workforce success for youth in juvenile justice facilities.
