National Skills CoalitionIn this webinar, presenters from the National Skills Coalition, the CSG Justice Center, the Center for Employment Opportunities, and Washburn Tech University will discuss opportunities for supporting people with criminal records under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The webinar will include examples of how states have incorporated corrections into their WIOA planning processes, provided transitional jobs programs for people with criminal records, and served people leaving prison and jail through the one-stop system of American Job Centers. Presenters will also share information about specific state policies that can help adults with limited literacy or numeracy skills—including those who are re-entering the workforce—to build foundational skills and obtain family-sustaining jobs.
