Register for Webinar: Establishing Baseline Data for Mental Illness in Jails

Hosted by the Stepping Up Initiative

Register for this webinarDate: Thursday, May 11
Time: 2–3:15 p.m. ET

Join the Stepping Up partners for the third webinar in the Six Questions series, which will feature key strategies for establishing baseline data on the number of people with mental illnesses in jails.

To reduce the number of people with mental illnesses in jails, counties need to have a clear and accurate understanding of the prevalence of mental illnesses and co-occuring substance use disorders within their jail populations. In this webinar, a national expert will provide an overview of the four data measures for people with mental illnesses in jails from the Six Questions publication: jail admissions, average length of stay, community connections, and recidivism. Then, county officials will share how they are calculating baseline data across the four data measures and how they are using this information to inform their Stepping Up efforts. The webinar will be followed on May 17 by the third Stepping Up Network Call, which will facilitate an in-depth discussion about the information.
