Public Safety Assessment screenshotAfter receiving training this summer, four CSG Justice Center staff members are now able to provide technical assistance to jurisdictions interested in using the Public Safety Assessment (PSA), a pretrial risk assessment that provides judges with information about defendants that can inform their release decisions. The PSA was developed by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) as part of a larger effort to improve decision making and fairness in the criminal justice system and increase public safety. When implemented correctly, the PSA can help eliminate subjective decision making at the judicial level. The training was administered by LJAF staff.

For more information on how CSG Justice Center staff can help your jurisdiction implement the PSA, contact Jennifer Kisela at jkisela@csg.org.
