Laura and John Arnold FoundadtionThe Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) has issued a request for proposals regarding its Public Safety Assessment (PSA). The proposal seeks a national provider to aid in the expanded availability and management of the PSA risk assessment process, as well as a group of pretrial researchers to broaden its research agenda. The foundation plans to dramatically expand access to its PSA and chosen researchers will focus on understanding the impact the PSA has on a jurisdiction after it’s fully implemented; broadening the study of the PSA’s accuracy in assessing a defendant’s likelihood to commit new crimes during the pretrial period or return to court for trial; developing and testing new potential algorithms; and deepening the field’s understanding about the impact pretrial detention has on defendants’ lives.

Learn more and apply. Proposals must be received by May 18. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal by June 18.
