The U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is accepting applications for the FY 2018 Innovations in Supervision Initiative (ISI) Building Capacity to Create Safer Communities Program, which is funded through the Second Chance Act. The program provides funding for: (1) probation and parole agencies to implement more effective probation and parole practices to reduce recidivism, and (2) a training and technical assistance provider to assist in developing a model for probation agencies to use to partner with other justice agencies to further their mutual public safety goals. ISI is part of the BJA’s Innovations Suite, which invests in the development of practitioner-researcher partnerships that use data, evidence, and innovation to create strategies that are effective and economical.
