bjaThe U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance, in partnership with the Office for Victims of Crime, is seeking applications for the FY 2018 Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Site-based Program (COAP). COAP is designed to: support first responders and provide for the needs of crime victims; support diversion programs for non-violent individuals with illicit and prescription opioid addictions; implement and enhance prescription drug monitoring programs; promote cross-system planning and coordination of service delivery; and reduce the incidence of fatal overdoses caused in part by opioid use. Effective responses must be comprehensive and address the needs of the individual who is addicted to drugs as well as any children and loved ones who may be experiencing trauma, violence, and victimization.

The solicitation provides further details about the program. Applications are due by June 7.
