The Pew Charitable Trusts has released a fact sheet that shows which states have enacted various policy changes through the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) since 2007. Policy changes fall into four categories: sentencing/pretrial, release, community corrections, and sustainability.

The states that have passed JRI legislation anticipate saving billions of dollars in corrections costs, and the total state imprisonment rate has fallen 11 percent since these policy changes began.

JRI is a partnership with state leaders from all three branches of government committed to using their criminal justice data to adopt and implement proven, innovative, and comprehensive approaches to reduce crime, cut recidivism rates, and shift resources toward more cost-effective public safety strategies.
